working on my 2nd hour

as tour of It Gets Darker comes to an end, I'm pivoting towards the dreaded "second hour". though the first hour is notoriously easier, the second one comes with the more challenging question of "how do we go deeper? what stories do you touch on without hitting the same themes of the first, but instead building on them?" a big part of creativity is mind-wandering; where it feels like you're doing nothing. you're puttering, you're walking, you're staring at a wall in existential dread. but all of this is a mandatory part of the subconscious creative process, allowing yourself to make connections you may otherwise not (this is why so many good ideas come to us when we're in the shower or driving). though the task itself seems overwhelming, I think I've figured out which longer-form story I want to hinge the rest of my hour around!! which is exciting news. hopefully I'll have time this summer to figure it out
